This year we ventured west into Queensland and New South Wales for Winter. We got to visit some of our family that we hadn’t seen in a very long time. We observed that these parts of the country were peaceful, simple and had much more of a relaxed lifestyle.
So here are five reasons why we recommend checking out this part of Australia in Winter.
1. WEATHER- Throughout the Winter months the temperatures are much more pleasant. This makes adventuring outdoors enjoyable and fun. Bush walking, fossicking and other physical forms of activity are not hindered by the constant reminder of how hot it is.
2. BUDGET FRIENDLY – Alot of the roads inland have camping spots along the way that are donation based or free. This really help stretch the budget out and allows for spending in other areas where the free camps are far and few between (Coastline).
3. LAID BACK LIVING– It’s great to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city, and learn to slow down, enjoy the long winding roads and literally be able to stop and smell the flowers.
4. BUGS– Yes there are still bugs out west but not nearly as many as you would find during the warmer months of the year.
5. FARMS– It was a great educational opportunity for our son to see all the different farms and where our food and clothes actually comes from and what it really looks like before it hits the table or wears it.
